Prices Tumble as Frantic Traders Take a Breather

Northeast Asian spot LNG prices tumbled $27 to $28 per million Btu, according to World Gas Intelligence assessments for deliveries four to eight weeks ahead. Spot LNG prices in Southwest Europe were assessed $38.30 lower at $34.20/MMBtu, but were still above Asia's. The UK National Balancing Point day-ahead price was assessed $32.02 lower at $34.95/MMBtu, while the ICE April contract crashed $35.47 to $35.22/MMBtu. Netbacks for Mideast sellers in Asia were about $6.15/MMBtu lower than in Southwest Europe, while UK/Belgian netbacks were $6.70/MMBtu higher than in Asia.
