Oil Sands Emissions in Focus

Canadian think tank Pembina Institute has called on oil sands producers to put forward more detailed plans on how they can reduce carbon emissions to keep pace with national net-zero goals. In a report published Tuesday, Pembina notes the “unprecedented challenge” facing the carbon-intensive oil sands sector, which must slash emissions while also dealing with forecasts of long-term declines in global demand for crude.
