April gas futures sagged Monday, losing 6.8¢ to $4.402 per million Btu, as forecasts indicate that heating loads are beginning a slide into spring. However, the contract's $4 handle appears secure for now, with oil and gas prices being bolstered by geopolitical uncertainty. The 12-month strip slid 6.5¢ to $4.545; the 2023 calendar strip was off 6.9¢ to $3.744 (Futures contracts ).
