EDF is preparing for an annus horribilis in 2022, with nuclear output from its French fleet of 56 reactors set to sink to a nadir not seen since 1990, due to a generic fault that could conceivably even further reduce output in the coming years. This fall in output alone is expected to negatively impact EDF's total 2022 earnings by an estimated €11 billion ($12.5 billion).
