France: Macron's Big Bet on Nuclear Newbuilds

French President Emmanuel Macron's embrace of a fleet of up to 14 EPR2 newbuilds, alongside a reversal of long-held government plans for a phase-down of existing nuclear generation, is one of the most bullish signals for the nuclear industry in decades. Macron pledged "public funding of several tens of billions of euros" to the effort, saying "the time is right" for "the French nuclear renaissance."
