US electric vehicle (EV) sales are accelerating, but it still trails rival EV markets boasting faster rates of adoption. So can the world’s largest oil-consuming nation catch up? Experts say that the keys will be effective policies, which remain a big unknown, and an expansion of electric models to choose from, which is guaranteed and well under way. Sales are likely to be buoyed by electric versions of popular vehicles that are either already on the market or ready to hit showrooms in the coming months.
