Asian Spot Prices Slump in Line With Weaker European Hubs

Northeast Asian spot LNG prices slumped $6 to $22 per million Btu, according to World Gas Intelligence assessments for deliveries four to eight weeks ahead. Spot prices in Southwest Europe were assessed $3.80 lower at $23.20/MMBtu. The UK National Balancing Point day-ahead price was assessed $2.42 lower at $25.11/MMBtu, while the ICE February front-month contract fell $2.80 to $25.15/MMBtu. Netbacks for Mideast sellers in Asia were about $1.20/MMBtu lower than in Southwest Europe, while UK/Belgian netbacks were $2.90/MMBtu higher than in Asia.
