February gas futures shot 16.3¢ higher Monday to $4.079 per million Btu as weather forecasts continued to shift colder over the weekend. The latter half of the 14-day forecast is especially cold as Canadian air is expected to envelop the US northern tier. The 12-month strip rose 10.4¢ to $3.948; the 2023 calendar strip rose 3.9¢ to $3.511 (Futures Contracts)
