Taiwan voters gave a vote of confidence to the energy transition strategy and nuclear phaseout plans of President Tsai Ing-wen's centrist Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) government, rejecting an opposition proposition to revive a controversial mothballed nuclear power plant. Turnout was modest, but of the four referenda the one concerning the Lungmen nuclear power plant received the least backing.
