Russia is taking steps to achieve carbon neutrality earlier than its 2060 target, as confirmed recently by President Vladimir Putin. Following the 2050 low-carbon development strategy recently adopted by Russia, Moscow has approved a 2035 transportation strategy, proposing to limit personal vehicles in favor of public transportation in a bid to cut emissions and soften the negative impact on the environment.
