Belarus fell under the spotlight of the energy market again last week when state-owned Belorusneft canceled its oil export plan for Germany for 2022 because of a new set of European sanctions. The move would necessitate a reshuffling of crude oil flows from both Belarus and Russia via the Druzhba pipeline. Minsk raised the stakes by again threatening to stop gas transit to Europe if sanctions tighten.
