Gas-Coal Switching Hampered

Gas-coal competition for power share is stacked a bit more in gas’ favor with coal stocks at four-decade lows. Coal stockpiles at US electric power plants totaled 80 million tons at the end of September, the lowest monthly level since March 1978, the US Energy Information Administration reported last week.
