China’s largest state refiner Sinopec Group is expanding its hydrogen strategy as it seeks to stay ahead in China’s accelerating hydrogen race. Hong Kong-listed subsidiary Sinopec Corp. revealed this summer that it has earmarked 30 billion yuan ($4.6 billion) for its 2021-25 hydrogen strategy — more than much bigger rival PetroChina plans to devote to all its new energy ventures.
