As the LNG industry jostles for a place at the transition table, Singapore LNG importer Pavilion Energy is spearheading efforts on carbon neutrality, working with QatarEnergy and Chevron on a methodology that calculates and reports greenhouse gas emissions associated with LNG cargoes from wellhead to discharge terminal. The methodology for producing a statement of GHG emissions [SGE], unveiled last week, will apply to cargoes delivered under term contracts with QatarEnergy and Chevron starting in 2023. Pavilion’s interim CEO, Alan Heng, explains its importance to the industry.
