Mounting efforts to phase out conventional cars were reinforced at COP26 with a wide-ranging pact signed by multiple stakeholders and players. What does this mean for oil demand in auto transport? The COP26 Declaration on Accelerating the Transition to 100% Zero Emission Cars and Vans commits to "rapidly accelerating the transition to zero-emission vehicles" while working toward "all sales of new cars and vans being zero emission." This goal is to achieve this by 2035 in leading markets and by 2040 globally.
