European major BP expects vastly diminished demand for liquid fuels to be mostly for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) by 2050, and has designed a net-zero refinery incorporating multiple SAF technologies to help meet it. Air BP's global aviation sustainability director Andreea Moyes ran through the plans at this month's International Air Transport Association's (IATA) Fuel Forum as part of a broader session on future SAF production prospects.
