A persistent mild weather outlook and soaring production brought winter gas futures prices below $5 per million Btu as traders shed more contracts. December futures plunged 44.8¢ to $4.979/MMBtu, while the January-March 2022 strip fell an average of 39.1¢ to $4.909. Meanwhile, spring and summer contracts slid by an average of 9.9¢ to retreat below $4 (Futures contracts).
