Congressional leaders are finalizing a vote on President Joe Biden’s $1.75 trillion Build Back Better Act, including nuclear production tax credits (PTCs) for the existing fleet and clean energy investment tax credits that could support advanced reactors. But as lawmakers and their staff finalize costs in accordance with the constraints of the budget reconciliation process, the nuclear industry is pushing to extend tax benefits as far out as possible.
