The 2021-22 winter gas futures contracts roared out of the weekend, posting 10% or better gains Monday. November soared 61.8¢, or 11.5%, to end the session at $5.898 per million Btu. The prompt month traded from $5.462-$6.008. Given Monday's action, it appears the bulls have taken control based on a cool turn to early November forecasts. But while that would produce smaller than expected storage builds in early November, it won't do much to bull-up storage fundamentals. November rolls off the board Wednesday. The 12-month strip jumped 34.2¢ to $4.904; the 2022 strip rose 26.8¢ to $4.629 (Futures contracts).
