SPOT LNG: Asian Prices Hold Steady But Jump in Volatile Europe

Northeast Asian spot LNG prices were stable for the third week in a row at $35 per million Btu, according to World Gas Intelligence assessments for deliveries four to eight weeks ahead. Spot prices in Southwest Europe were assessed $2.90 higher at $32/MMBtu. The UK National Balancing Point day-ahead price was assessed $1.29 higher at $28.27/MMBtu, while the ICE November front-month contract rose $3.12 to $32.58/MMBtu. Netbacks for Mideast sellers in Asia were about $2.85/MMBtu higher than in Southwest Europe, while UK/Belgian netbacks were $6.80/MMBtu lower than in Asia.
