Russia: Rosatom Locks in Siberian Offtakers for SMRs

Russia is locking in offtakers for small modular reactor (SMR) projects in its far east, as both its first-of-a-kind floating SMRs and planned land-based SMR are paired with major Siberian mining projects. At this week's annual Russian Energy Week conference these offtakers argued that the SMRs will provide power more cheaply than hydrocarbon alternatives.
