President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Russia will strive to achieve carbon neutrality "no later than 2060" — belatedly aligning his country with most of the world's largest greenhouse gas emitters.

Saudi Arabia, the world largest oil exporter, has committed to a net zero carbon emissions target by 2060.
