While many hydrogen supply projects are being planned at an impressive speed, new demand remains to materialize and grow at the required pace. That warning came from Timur Gul, the International Energy Agency's (IEA) head of energy technology policy as the agency released its new Global Hydrogen Review. Seifi Ghasemi, boss of industrial gases giant Air Products, concurs. "We can make all the hydrogen in the world but it is only practical if somebody is using it," he told the Energy Intelligence Forum earlier this month. He called for "targeted incentives" to create markets and promote consumption.
