Northeast Asian spot LNG prices remained stable at $35 per million Btu, according to World Gas Intelligence assessments for deliveries four to eight weeks ahead. Spot prices in Southwest Europe were assessed $4.10 lower at $29.10/MMBtu. The UK National Balancing Point day-ahead price was assessed $1.45 lower at $26.98/MMBtu, while the ICE November front-month contract slid $4.03 to $29.44/MMBtu. Netbacks for Mideast sellers in Asia were about $5.70/MMBtu higher than in Southwest Europe, while UK/Belgian netbacks were $8.10/MMBtu lower than in Asia.

All eyes are on lack of Russian gas, but high prices are prompting a number of US politicians to call for a halt, or at least cuts, to US LNG exports.
