Russia's two petrochemical corporations, Sibur and Taif, have completed their merger in a move that created a $26.8 billion petchems giant, while Sibur has laid the groundwork for expansion into Kazakhstan. After having issued $3 billion in bonds, Sibur managed to closed the acquisition. The merged company will produce 8 million metric tons of polyolefins and 1.2 million tons of rubber products.
