November gas futures tested the waters above $6 per million Btu early Monday — making a nearly 45¢ jump from Friday's close. But once the smoke cleared, bulls settled for a 14.7¢ gain to $5.776/MMBtu. While warmer early-fall weather forecasts helped support the move, there seems a growing sense that current fundamentals might not support a sustained move into a $6 range. The contract traded in a $5.628-$6.064 range. The 12-month strip rose 11.2¢ to $4.725; the 2022 calendar strip was up 6.2¢ to $4.40 (Futures contracts).
