October gas futures regained a $5 handle Friday, shooting 16.4¢ higher to end the week at $5.14 per million Btu. The contract has shown continued volatility, falling 30¢ in this week's first two sessions and gaining 33.5¢ in the last two. The contract is up 3.5¢ for the week. The trading range was $4.99-$5.183. The 12-month strip rose 12¢ to $4.525; the 2022 calendar strip was up 10.1¢ to $4.209 (Futures contracts).
