Town Joins Gas Ban Movement

Encinitas, California, last Wednesday became the 50th community in the state to ban natural gas use in favor of electrification to address greenhouse gas emissions. The city council voted unanimously to eliminate installing natural gas infrastructure in new residential and commercial construction, with narrow exceptions, within city limits.

Gas production in Oklahoma continues a steady decline from its 8 Bcf/d peak in 2019, but a reversal could be brewing.
