Brazil’s worst water crisis in nine decades has forced it to import more LNG to plug the gap left by lower hydropower output. As LNG prices have soared, it has also been looking over the border to Argentina's massive Vaca Muerta shale play to sate its gas appetite. But that would require construction of a 2,030 kilometer (1,270 mile) pipeline, and the steep price tag, combined with political uncertainties in both countries, makes the idea a long shot.
