Forecasts: WNA Expects Surging Nuclear Capacity

The World Nuclear Association’s (WNA)'s biennial nuclear fuel report predicts a major rise in demand from nuclear power producers beginning in 2028 and extending into 2040, but the majority of this surge hinges on ambitious reactor development plans in China and India. In other parts of the world outside the US and Europe (where reactors are closing), a handful of nations are in the construction phase while reactor development plans elsewhere are uncertain.
