HORIZON: New Risks Threaten Vietnam's LNG-to-Power Plans

Some of the 20-plus gas/LNG-to-power projects proposed in Vietnam could be at risk as the new government scrutinizes the electricity plan drafted by its predecessor earlier this year. The US Treasury Department's pledge to end fossil fuel lending is also casting a shadow over schemes that would like to secure multilateral development bank funding. LNG suppliers hoping to break into the Southeast Asian market are keeping a close eye on developments.
