The International New York Times and Energy Intelligence will host the 35th Oil & Money Conference in London on 29th and 30th October. This year, as it has done every year since 1980, Oil & Money will bring together energy and finance experts to discuss the crucial issues facing the international energy sector today.

Some of the headline speakers taking to the stage this year include Emilio Lozoya Austin, Chief Executive Officer, Pemex, Nizar Al-Adsani, Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Bob Dudley, Group Chief Executive, BP, Patrick Pouyanné, President, Refining & Chemicals, TOTAL, TorbjörnTörnqvist, Chief Executive Officer, Gunvor Group and Michael O'Dwyer, Managing Director and Co-Head EMEA Natural Resources Group, Morgan Stanley.

These experts, and others to be announced, will discuss the pressures of rising demand and import dependence in Asia, as well as China and Russia’s increasingly pivotal roles in the global energy landscape. The agenda will also examine the changing global oil market and analyze how geopolitical dynamics affect its future.

Stephen Dunbar-Johnson, President, International, The New York Times Company, commented: “For thirty-five years, Oil & Money has crafted a program that brings together a powerhouse of industry leaders, influencers and policymakers to bring to light the key challenges impacting the oil and gas sector worldwide. As the global energy landscape changes, with geopolitical forces creating an ever more volatile and complex marketplace, the insights and strategies shared at Oil & Money 2014 could not be more relevant to the global oil and gas sector."

Thomas Wallin, Editor in Chief, Energy Intelligence, said: “At our first conference back in 1980 the world was gripped by events in Iran and the broader Middle East in the aftermath of the Iranian Revolution. And ironically this year our debates and discussions will be echoing some of the issues that were so critical to the petroleum business 35 years ago. But we will also be looking to new areas of interest such as Mexico and the shale revolution.”

Oil & Money is also where the Petroleum Executive of the Year award is presented. The 2014 award, selected by top global industry executives, will be presented to Mr Emilio Lozoya Austin, Chief Executive Officer of PetróleosMexicanos (Pemex).
