The energy transition and changing economic priorities are causing countries around the world to reappraise their relationships with the oil and gas industry. Nations that once fully supported the industry may no longer do so, while others that previously saw their futures tied up with low-carbon economics now embrace oil and gas. Companies will need to negotiate this shifting political landscape and balance their interests with those of the countries they operate in if they want to retain their favored status.
