• US independent oil company Talos Energy plans to use carbon capture and storage (CCS) to generate revenue and to potentially offset operational emissions.

• Talos hopes that CCS project offsets could also underpin acquisitions as the company looks for opportunities both within and outside its core operating area of the Gulf of Mexico.

• Talos is targeting CCS projects in inland, state waters that are viable today and complement its existing geological and seismic skill set.
