Restricted Air Corridors Stall International Traffic Rebound

This summer the global airline sector scored its best performance since the pandemic struck early last year, but still has a long way to go to reach pre-pandemic traffic rates. By July global air traffic had rebounded to nearly half its pre-pandemic volume, driven by booming domestic travel that had recovered to just 15% below 2019 levels for the month. International markets were still lagging by nearly 75%, according to latest data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
