Energy Intelligence Middle East correspondent Amena Bakr has been rated 13th on business information website Marketwatch’s ranking of the top Twitter accounts for investors to follow in 2017.

The influential website praised Bakr for her coverage of Opec oil policy developments, noting that "if there is an Opec meeting going on, she’s all over it."

"This is a reflection of Amena’s diligent use of Twitter to promote her work at Energy Intelligence and, of course, her central role in our excellent coverage of Opec this year," Energy Intelligence Executive Editor Jim Washer said. "The scale of Amena’s achievement can be seen by the company she is in at the top end of that list, sitting alongside CEOs, investment strategists and chief economists."

Bakr is based in Energy Intelligence’s Dubai bureau and is a core part of the team covering Opec and Middle East oil policy, contributing regularly to Energy Intelligence titles including International Oil Daily, Energy Compass and Petroleum Intelligence Weekly.
