Alexandra Chapman, a member of the Leaders for Tomorrow Selection Committee, said:

"The objective of this scholarship is to identify top graduates who have recently entered, or are about to enter, the oil and gas workforce. The judging panel was impressed with the caliber of applications this year, but the enthusiasm and passion for the oil and gas industry really shone through in the applications of this year’s scholarship winners. The scholarship enables these young men and women to attend the conference, providing them with a unique opportunity to learn from and network with some of the industry’s foremost and respected leaders. We hope that their attendance at the conference will help start them on the path to fulfilling careers in this dynamic and exciting industry."

Paul Odongo, originally from Uganda; a 2015 Oil & Money Scholarship winner now working as a Reservoir Engineer at Total SA. in France said:

"I can confidently say that it's one of the best things that happened to me. It was a turning point in my life. Not only did it greatly inspire me and broaden my vision and knowledge of the industry, but I also managed to meet great people some of whom are still in touch with me and have always given me very good advice for my career."

Launched in 2013 with the initial support of Christophe de Margerie, then Chairman and CEO of Total, the scholarship looks to support the next generation of leaders and executives in the oil and gas industry. Prior to 2017, it has provided 48 conference places to ambitious graduates.

The Oil & Money conference, now in its 38th year, is jointly convened by the International New York Times and Energy Intelligence. The conference brings together energy and finance leaders to discuss the current and emerging issues confronting the international oil and gas industry.

The 2017 Leaders for Tomorrow scholarship program is sponsored by Total, Gunvor S.A and LUKOIL. Recipients of the scholarship will be presented on stage on Day Two of the Oil & Money conference.
