Save for later Print Download Share LinkedIn Twitter Russian gas giant Gazprom said preliminary data showed that it increased its pipeline gas exports to Europe and China by 26% to 99.9 Bcm in the first half of this year, compared with the corresponding period of 2020. Exports to Europe -- Gazprom's main foreign market -- were boosted by a cold winter, depleted European gas inventories and limited supplies of LNG during the first half of this year. The Russian company has faced increased competition in Europe in recent years from LNG imports into the region. In the first half of 2020, Gazprom's exports to Europe (including Turkey) fell 19% year on year to 77.8 Bcm because of a warm winter, ample European inventories and plentiful supplies of LNG.
