Urenco last week announced plans, pending regulatory approvals, to extend production of low-enriched uranium up to 10% U-235, also known as LEU+, not only at its US enrichment plant but at its UK site. The uranium spot market continued to tick higher this past week on a flurry of buying activity from investor-backed mining juniors and news of another potential junior, miner or physical uranium fund raising money to buy U3O8. As sellers hold out for higher bids, Energy Intelligence's Uranium Price Panel delivered an average price of $31.13 per pound U3O8 on Apr. 1, up from $29.90/lb. on Mar. 25.
