Summary China’s sharp reduction in Iranian crude imports in February, when shipments fell 42% year-on-year to 290,000 barrels per day, has fueled speculation that Beijing has taken a strategic decision to replace oil from Iran with additional barrels from other Mideast suppliers including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq.
